These hands-on courses lead to a non-credit certificate of completion in Industrial Automation Maintenance. The emphasis of this program, developed with industry to ensure its relevance and effectiveness, is on actual application and problem solving. More than 90 companies have enrolled employees in this unique program. Certificate Options IAM Master Certificate -- the most comprehensive of the IAM certificates Successful completion of a minimum of nine (9) courses, including: The applied mathematics prerequisite The communicating on the job requirement At least two electrical courses (Choose from: Basic Electricity, Industrial Electricity and Controls, PLC I or PLC II) At least two hydraulic / pneumatic courses (Choose from: Basic Hydraulics, Advanced Hydraulics, or Pneumatic Automation) IAM Electrical & Controls Certificate -- focusing specifically on the electrical course series Successful completion of a minimum of five (5) courses, including: The applied mathematics prerequisite Three electrical courses (Choose from: Basic Electricity, Industrial Electricity and Controls, PLC I or PLC II) One additional course of your choice IAM Hydraulics / Pneumatics Certificate -- focusing specifically on the fluid power course series Successful completion of a minimum of five (5) courses, including: The applied mathematics prerequisite Three hydraulics / pneumatics courses (Basic Hydraulics, Advanced Hydraulics, & Pneumatic Automation) One additional course of your choice The Original IAM Certificate -- for individuals who enrolled in the program before Fall 2002 Successful completion of a minimum of nine (9) courses, including: The applied mathematics prerequisite The communicating on the job requirement The remaining seven courses are your choice Program Requirements Successful completion of each course is based upon minimum criteria established by the instructor and listed in the course syllabus. Attendance, class participation, exams, and laboratory exercises will all be included in the evaluation. *Applied Mathematics is a prerequisite to all other courses and new students must either test-out or complete prior to enrollment in other courses. Students who can successfully demonstrate previous experience and competency in a given course may receive certificate credit by passing the final examination. There is a $50 test-out fee for each course.
